Robert Wade Kelley

Mr. Kelley was born May 20, 1938, the son of the late Oma Obedience and Robert Clifton Kelley. He passed away Friday, September 5, 2014.

He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a graduate of Redland High School and was retired from Champion Paper Mill. Mr. Kelley had a lifetime of involvement with the Lufkin Youth Baseball League. He served as a National Board Member of the Dixie Majors. Mr. Kelley was a devout Christian and was a member of Union Road Church of Christ.

Survivors include his children, R. C. “Clif” Kelley, II, Patrick Kelley, Jennifer Kelley, Alan Poe and wife Malena, and Jason Kelley and wife Diana; grandchildren, Kristin Kelley, Amber Condon, Robert Zylstra, Caleb Collins and wife Alyssa, Blake Collins, Patrick Crawford-Collins, Mario and Samantha Sanchez, Stephen Poe, Micheal Johnson, Brittany Kelley and Austin Kelley; 8 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Tish Kelley; sisters-in-law, Mary Kelley and Karon Kelley; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ola Kelley; brothers, Mickeal Kelley and Charles Kelley; and granddaughter, Nicole Poe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Kelley’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, TX 75904.
