Raymond M. Dunn

Funeral services for Raymond M. Dunn, 94, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, November 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Wallace Chapel Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas.

Raymond was born April 18, 1928 in Lufkin, Texas to Ethel (Hill) and Noah Timothy Dunn. He passed away Monday, November 21, 2022 in a local nursing home.

Raymond was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from Temple Associates; but he returned to work at Centerville Housing Authority and worked there for 20 years. He loved to travel and see new things. He was a fan of country music and old westerns. He spent his time taking care of other people. Raymond was a very loving and caring person, who will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Dunn and wife Vickie of Lufkin, Texas, Dick Dunn and wife Kay of Lufkin, Texas; grandchildren, Eric Dunn, Matthew Dunn, Douglas Dunn, Jessica Deel, Amber Wetherell,

and Christie Counts; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ethan, Aryah, Brianna and Adam Dunn, Cody Gillard, Kaizr Shuell, Bryant, Zach, Nikky, and Nathan Counts. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Dunn; brothers, Vernon, Cecil and Rayford Dunn.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
