Peyton was a brick mason by trade and loved his job, working hard to support his family. A musician at heart, he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and was a member of the bluegrass gospel group, Angelina Grass. He also had a passion for fishing and traveling, and he held a deep love for God and Country, and he was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Lufkin. Above all, he cherished spending time with Sylvia, his wife of 64 years.
Peyton was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Richard, Raymond, Robert, Bill, and Kenneth Forsythe; and his son, Daryl Forsythe.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Forsythe; his daughter, Darenda Mullins, and her husband, William; his grandchildren, Chase Mullins, Chasscie "Luna" Mullins, Lacie Bass and her husband, Michael, and Amanda Forsythe. Peyton's legacy will also live on through his six great-grandchildren and all those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin, TX, with funeral services to follow the next day, Friday, July 19, 2024, at 10 am. He will be laid to rest in Whitehouse Cemetery in Lufkin, TX.
