Melinda (Chandler) Thompson

Services for Melinda Chandler Thompson, 58, of Kennard, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Providence Baptist Church, with Bro. Bryan Lipscomb officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan.

Melinda was born February 19, 1963 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Reda Mae (Carl) and James Daniel Chandler. She passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 in a Lufkin hospital.

Melinda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Melinda was a member of Providence Baptist Church and enjoyed working at her church.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Thompson of Kennard; daughter and son-in-law, Alisha and Brian May of Apple Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Katlin Turner of Apple Springs; son, Michael Sessum of Conroe; daughter, Jennifer Sessum of Hudson; son, Matthew Thompson of Kennard; brother and sister-in-law, James and Melissa Chandler of Lufkin; and grandchildren, Addison Dwire, Madison Dwire, Hannah Turner, Tristan Turner, Colt May, Victoria May, Violet May, Logan May and Chloe Crawford.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
