Mrs. McMullen was a kind and gentle lady that exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman through her dedication to Christ and her family and friends. She was wise, helpful, and generous to all who knew her. She attended Grace Communion Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Hintson of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sandy McMullen of Lufkin; son-in-law, Randle Hunter of Concord, Arkansas; sister, Nina Fryer of Conroe, Texas; sister, Ina Mae Talmadge of Sugarland, Texas; grandchildren, Melony and Bob Ralph of Gilmer, Texas, Jill and Robbie Tuma of Rockwall, Texas, Wendy and Richard Matthews of Heber Springs, Arkansas; Lori Hunter of Heber Springs, Arkansas; David Taylor of Bridgeport, Connecticut; Karen and Troy Wernli of Whitehouse, Texas; Wesley and Jennifer Taylor of Searcy, Arkansas. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and special friend Katherine Williams.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her stepmother, Mae Varner; husband, T. C. McMullen, Jr.; daughter, Anita Hunter; son-in-law, Don Florey; son-in-law, Allan Hintson; grandson-in-law, Kent Phillips; sisters, Emily Crooke, Roilee Johnston, Betty Chambers, and Linda Terry; and brothers, E. J. Varner and Joe Varner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Walter Futch officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
