Jennifer Rose Mendoza

Funeral services for Jennifer Rose Mendoza, 37, of Lufkin, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Jennifer Lantis and Pastor Jack Knox officiating.

Jennifer was born August 17, 1985 in Lufkin, daughter to Angela (Contreras) and Irineo Cavazos Mendoza. She passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 in a local hospital.

Ms. Mendoza was very artistic. She enjoyed spending her time taking pictures and writing poems. She also enjoyed singing.

Survivors include mother, Angela Mendoza of Lufkin; numerous aunts and uncles from the Mendoza and Contreras families.

She was preceded in death by her father, Irineo Mendoza in 2020; brother, Gerald Mendoza in 2021; aunts and uncles Norma Lee Castillo, Guadalupe Mendoza, Robert Mendoza, Jose Mendoza, Alfredo Mendoza, and Dora Mendoza; maternal grandparents, Francisco and Cristina Contreras; and paternal grandparents, Fidel Mendoza and Celia Cavazos Mendoza.

Pallbearers will be John Davis, Frank Contreras, Wally Mendoza Jr., Natlie Mendoza, and Stephen Boggs.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
