Services for Jack Allen Beaty, 79, of Diboll, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Kenny Hibbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Beaty was born February 20, 1934 in Camden, Polk County, Texas, the son of Nettie Lee (Wallace) and Thomas Hicks Beaty. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Beaty proudly served his country for five years in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea and Germany during this time. He was employed in the maintenance department as an oiler for 32 years at Temple Inland. Upon retirement, he and his wife Sue traveled throughout the United States, enjoying the many popular travel destinations. Because of his love for children, Mr. Beaty also coached Little League Baseball for a number of years. He loved camping and was an avid football fan, never missing the Dallas Cowboys or the Texas Longhorns play. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Diboll.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 31 years, Sue Beaty of Diboll; son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Melissa Beaty of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Terry Tolbert of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Chuck and Dawn Carter of Leesville, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle and Gary Alexander of Lufkin; foster son and wife, Axel and Nicole Franzen of Troisdorf, Germany; grandchildren, Claire Beaty, Logan Carter, Bradley Cole Carter, Abby Alexander, Rebekah McEntire, Jeremy McEntire, Kyle Hawley, Oscar and Sebastian Perez, Allegra, Oscar, and Rudy Franzen, LeAnne and Shay Alexander, Keisha Tolbert, Brandon Tolbert; great-grandchildren, Camryn Carter and Kinsley McEntire and Isabella, Skylar and Jayden Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, J. I. and Thomas Gene Beaty; two sisters, Mary Lou Lowther and Lois Lee Beaty. He was the youngest of five children.
Pallbearers will be Mike Beaty, Tommy Lowther, Bobby Beaty, Jeremy McEntire, Bradley Cole Carter and Marvin Courtney.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
