Gilberto Perez Sr.

Funeral services for Gilberto Perez, Sr., 59, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Gary Trevino officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Haven Cemetery in Diboll.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with the family receiving friends and loved ones from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Perez was born August 13, 1962 in Raymondville, Texas, the son of the late Hortencia (Castillo) and Guadalupe Perez. He passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 in a local hospital.

Mr. Perez was a beloved, son, father, grandfather, friend, neighbor and family member. He lived for his children and grandchildren. He loved Tejano music, the Dallas Cowboys, helping people and being with his family. He had a heart of gold and a great spirit, and would help anyone in need. He loved and enjoyed his German Shepherds, Mona and Polar Bear.

Survivors include his children, Gilberto Perez, Jr., Jessica Perez and husband Marcos, Hector Perez, Maria Perez and husband Jose, Jay Perez, John Perez, Diego Perez and Abram Perez; grandchildren, Hector Perez, Jr., Alyssa, Marcos Ochoa, Jr., and Jesslyn Ochoa; brothers, Ramiro, Guadalupe, Patricio, and Luis Perez; and sister, Diana Nava.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Perez was preceded in death by his daughter, Angelita Perez.
