Cecil was the first-born to (R L) Lloyd Hamilton and Vanna Madden Hamilton on December 3, 1941 in Galveston, Texas, then spent his early years growing up and attending school in Odessa, Texas.
In 1962, Cecil enlisted in the U S Army and proudly served his country from this time until 1965 with the United States Army Bravo Company 24th Infantry Supply and Transportation. He was always eager to share these experiences he encountered while stationed in Augsburg, Germany.
After completion of his Army service, Cecil returned to Apple Springs, Texas. Here he met the love of his life, Judith Lynn Harrison, had a whirlwind romance and made this beautiful lady his bride on June 20, 1969. Of this union, Cecil and Judy had two handsome sons, Kenneth Dwayne and Randall Alan. They made their home in Apple Springs, raised their sons, and Cecil worked for Lufkin Industries, Oilfied Division and retired after 38 years. On July 19, 2006, the world as Cecil had known it, took a different view. Cecil’s soulmate and wife Judy, departed from this Earth; his partner in life had gone to meet her Lord and Savior.
After some time, Cecil began to travel: visiting his old home places and friends he made in the Army. His youngest son had moved to El Paso, and he visited many times, enjoying the visits as well as the beautiful surroundings the city offered. Cecil decided to relocate, being closer to his family, friends and health providers as his health declined.
Cecil is preceded in death by his wife Judy; his parents, Lloyd and Vanna Hamilton; his brother, Lloyd Ray; and his baby sister, Cecilia.
Cecil is survived by his family, Dwayne and wife Stephanie Hamilton of Apple Springs, Texas and Alan and wife Sonya Hamilton of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Blake Hamilton, Scotty Hamilton, Mackinsey and husband Jared Klein, Jack Hamilton, Maverick Hamilton, Breahna and husband David Green, Joey Hamilton, and Alex Strong; and great-grandchildren, Lila Klein and Levi Klein.
On behalf of Cecil’s sons, an expression of love and appreciation is extended to his cousin, Charlie Minshew, for the lifetime of friendship and fishing partner.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Hamilton, Jack Hamilton, Joey Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, William Duke, Jason Cole, Kenneth Jones and Bobby Rooney.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2019 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend James Whitllesey officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Nogalus Prairie, Texas.
