David was born August 23, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of Imogene (Waggoner) and Dr. Groom Shepard, who preceded him in death. He passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at his residence.
David was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved swimming in the summers with his family at Winston Park, was an avid coin collector, and enjoyed family vacations to Red River, New Mexico. David was very smart and studious and had a Master’s Degree in Science from Stephen F. Austin State University. He was a hard worker, perseverant and head-strong. He will be missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his brothers, Joseph Shepard and George Shepard, both of Ft. Worth, John Shepard of Austin, and Andy Shepard of Lufkin; sister, Shirley Campbell of Shreveport; sister and brother-in-law, Cecelia and Charles Neel of The Woodlands; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A private Celebration of Life for David will be held at a later date.
