Services for Charles “Wayne” Chamblee, 75, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Martin Doran officiating. Interment will follow in the Rocky Springs/Old Center Cemetery.
Mr. Chamblee was born July 1, 1937 in Huntington, Texas, the son of the late Finice (Nerren) and James Wesley “Wes” Chamblee. He passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 in a Huntington nursing facility.
Mr. Chamblee retired from Lufkin Industries following more than 35 years of employment, ending as a maintenance supervisor. He loved all of the kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tea parties, and just being a playmate. Mr. Chamblee was a member of Huntington United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #254, A.F. & A.M., was a 32nd degree Masonic Scottish Rite, member of Eastern Star #938 and V.F.W. Post 1836. He served his country with the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Marlene Chamblee of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Marleisha and Mark Jacob of Cleveland, Ohio; grandsons, Aaron and Alex Jacob of Cleveland, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Rita Chamblee of Huntington; sister, Bobbie Smith of Huntington; sister-in-law, Nelda Diehl of San Antonio; special niece, Lisa Lemons of Huntington; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; special friend, Lamar Sheffield and his family of Huntington; and special little friend, Kane Ross of Huntington.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Chamblee was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Burl Smith.
Pallbearers will be Lamar Sheffield, Mark Jacob, Corey Lemons, James Chamblee, Glenn Summers, and Bubba Chamblee.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tom Holland.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Gipson Funeral Home.
