Wilma Richards Key, lovingly known as Wemu, entered into eternal rest on November 28, 2023 at the age of 78. A native of Lubbock, TX; she was born to John and Annie May (Tyler) Richards on May 1, 1945.
Wemu was a loving and devoted wife to Mickey. She loved and adored all her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She not only enjoyed being in the presence of her loving family, but she liked playing games such as: SkipBo, Uno, and 42, to name a few; and watching westerns. She was a clothing expert for Mahon Cleaners and Texas Tech Housekeeping for many years, but her true joy and passion was being with her family and making memories with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Billy, Bud, Clifford, Ronnie, and Laverne. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her children: Mitzi and Hank Hernandez of Katy,TX, Don and Cindy Key of Oklahoma City,OK, and Debbie Pickard, Dean and Audrey Key, Leslie and Mary Key, all of Lubbock,TX; grandchildren: Jennifer and Michael Dickson, Stephanie and Phillip Drake, Mason and Chelsey Hernandez, Jonathan Key, Connor and Serée Key, Brittany and Peter Lucas, and Marissa Mittal, Deepak and Jo Ann Mittal, Madeline and Chris Skelton; great-grandchildren Mycha Dickson, Jennesis Dickson, Malachi Dickson, Brayden Drake, Halle Belle Hernandez, Avery Lucas, Kaytlyn Lucas, Jameson Lucas, Amber Mittal, Selina Mittal, Marcelino Mittal, Lily Mittal, Adrian Mittal, Angel Mittal, Cassie Mittal, DJ Mittal, Isabelle Skelton, Vivienne Skelton, ; great-great-grandchildren: Fernando, Kratos, Kay; siblings: Donald and Lonnie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family invites you to join them as they honor and celebrate her life with a visitation beginning on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Services will continue with a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 2pm in Resthaven Funeral Home's Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow in Ralls Cemetery.
