William R. Wood, 77, of Lubbock, TX, passed away March 2, 2015. He was born in Krebs, Oklahoma on April 4, 1937. William graduated from McAlester High School. He married Eva T. Wood on April 2, 1983. William served in the United States Air Force for 24 years as an Air Plane Mechanic and then for Lockheed. While in the Air Force he traveled to many places, but chose to retire in Lubbock, TX. He was a member of the American Legion and had a passion for camping with his friends Bobby and Robert Greer, motorcycles, watching baseball and football. William was preceded in death by his father, James Wood; mother, Althea Teagarden; brother James E. Wood; his cousin Gene Baxindale; and Betty Old. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eva Wood; his sister, Mary Etta Wood Thomas; his nephews John Thomas (Rebecca), and James G. Thomas (Raylene); Barbara K. Winstead of Ow-ensboro, KY.; cousin, Jimmy Old of McAlester, OK. He also had many friends ; James Mays of FT. Worth, Michael Deheck, Scott Camman, Randy Lowery, Walter Guillot, George and Delia Carriger. William cared very much about his hometown friend John Shields. William was a very likeable guy, he got along with everyone especially his neighbors, Steve and Gloria Costilla, Rudolph Perez, Wilbert and Alicia Cavazoz and their family.
