I meet Sheila at Stein Mart, I kept going into the boutique the dept she worked in to say hello 
She always called me Wendy it took her awhile to realize my name was Trudy
We eventually started going to lunch together then the friendship was on full blast
Shopping, lunches , phone conversations and of course tea time at her house
She was a Grandmother-Mom-Sister figure for me not having any relatives in Lubbock and of course a  great woman of God you was always a listening ear 
Loved all of her life stories about her travels with Buddy how they met and going to the big dance halls
Wish I could have another cup of tea with her and chat again
Shelia I’m sure God had a cup of tea ready for you as soon as you reached the pearly gates

She was special to many people.

The passing of our precious Sheila will leave a huge hole in my life. I loved her fiery British temperament because you never knew what would happen next. I had almost daily conversations with her for the past 15 plus years ago. Our birthdays and fellowship birthdays were just days apart so we always went to eat someplace nice. We laughed together, cried together, prayed together, and shared our souls. Friendships like ours come rarely in our lives and we talked about that a lot. I know she is loved by many and will be missed by many but she is with her Buddy and other loved ones. If you were blessed to see Buddy and Sheila dance together you know what their reunion was like. I love you Sheila. Rest, my dear friend

The first time I saw Sheila she was at the podium introducing a speaker. She was at the Height of fashion in a brightly colored outfit.   Most likely Royal Blue. She was confidant before the crowd, making jokes, giving complements, and almost flirting with her audience,  I remember looking up at her and wishing I could be like her, It never occurred to me that we could be friends. That was forty years ago,

Sheila gave intimate tea parties which usually included cucumber sandwiches and  Madeleine tarts which looked like sea shells. We put lemon curd or jam on them,

My favorite memory was about twenty years ago. I had been in a car wreck .  The bruises made me look like a raccoon. I knocked at her door, crying like a baby. I came for help.  She unlocked  the door and 
wrapped her arms around me. She made me a spot of tea and consoled me.  She read from the bible and prayed aloud for me, Moments like this are precious and can never be forgotten.

I loved her stories about dating Buddy, boxes of chocolates, and her life in England. She was feisty, funny, and elegant. At times we would talk and she would open up her heart and even her fears to me,  I am most grateful for those shared moments with my friend,  We will miss you Sheila,

She loved watching Carmen dance at The Dance Gallery recitals! 

When My friend Sheila turned 90, I thought it would be a great idea to throw her a  surprise “Queen” 👑 themed Birthday Party!  Since she was from England, I knew that she would love it!  At last count, there were 88 of Sheila’s friends there. Sheila had lots and lots of friends!  From that day forward,  we chatted about her  “Lovely Party” quite often!  (Almost every time I talked to her! )   Sheila will be missed by me and countless others.

Sheila had so much of an impact on my life. Originally my grandmother’s best friend, she quickly assumed that role with my Papa after my grandmother passed. She was a trusted confidant to me and someone I loved and respected so much.  I know she is rejoicing with Jesus and the reunions in Heaven. Sheila, we love you and will see you soon!

Sheila and I became instant friends.  She was from England and I'm from Canada and we just clicked.  We had  lots of things in common and we enjoyed each others stories about our lives, our family and our homeland.   We lunched often at the Olive Garden and afterwards, it was time to shop till you drop.  We spent many hours at the mall, TJ Maxx and going up and down the isles at United...  After shopping, we always had to stop for a coffee and a "sweet."  I never tired of her stories, especially the one when she got mad at Buddy and threw her shoe at him...  She was a one of a kind and she will be missed by many..  Rest in Peace my dear friend...  Love, Lana

I Loved Sweet little Ms. Sheila! I met her through a meeting we both attended on Wednesday nights. We connected rather quickly as she was English and my mum was born there and is half. What a firecracker that Gal was! She was so incredibly witty and had such a sweet, sweet soul. She reminded me very much of my own Nan and she could always put a smile on my face. She will be dearly missed. Prayers for her family and her friends during this difficult time. I Love You to pieces Ms. Sheila! Fly high Sweetheart!💙😇🙏
