He graduated from Abernathy High School in 1956 and married Shirley Hice on June 22, 1957. He worked for South Plains Telephone Coop until he retired on January 15, 1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mildred and Beatrice, and brother, Orvalle.
He is survived by his loving wife Shirley; three children: daughter Kathy and husband Chris of Levelland, son Rickey and his wife Debbie of Lubbock, son David Schoor of Amarillo; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Garland Schoor and wife Barbara of Lubbock; and his beloved fur baby Coco.
He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge, receiving his 60 year member pin in September of 2020; and was also a long time member of Broadview Baptist Church.
The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 6pm-8pm. Services will continue on Thursday, March 3, 2022 with a 1pm Celebration of Life at Broadview Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
