Pauline Lorraine McLaughlin-Harrison (age 93) of Lubbock, a Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother "Nana" went to be with the Lord and was reunited with her husband of 68 years Tom Harrison on October 21, 2015. Pauline was born on January 19, 1922 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to the late Joe and Nona McLaughlin.
Pauline was one of eight children and was the last living survivor of her original five brothers and two sisters. Pauline loved her family and being the third oldest in her family she helped provide for and raise many of her younger siblings. While working one of her many jobs to help her family she met the love of her life in Stinnett, TX. He was home for the summer from the University of Texas. Pauline knew he was the one, and traveled on 3 trains to Presque Isle, Maine to marry Tom Harrison on November 22, 1944 while Tom was serving in the U.S. Army. They made their homes in Amarillo, TX, Shamrock, TX and retired to Lubbock, TX.
Pauline was truly a homemaker and most notably a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and she absolutely loved her family. She did also work in the family automotive and gas station business with her husband in Shamrock, TX. Taking care of family and making sure everybody was comfortable was her greatest and most enjoyable hobby. She made everyone feel at home and you never left her house cold, tired and hungry.
She is survived by 3 Daughters, Ann Cook of Amarillo, TX formerly Wheeler, TX, Kay Buchanan and husband George of Lubbock, TX and GayLynn Huddleston of Plano, TX.
Five grandchildren, Tom Cook and wife RaNita and 3 great grandchildren Ethan, Britton and Parker of Amarillo, TX. Travis Cook and wife Marcie and 2 great grandchildren Cody and Tyler of Canyon, TX. Todd Buchanan and wife Jennifer and 2 great grandchildren Zachary and Haley of Houston Nichelle Buchanan and 1 great grandchild Aurora of Lubbock, TX.
Ted Buchanan and wife Shelly and 2 great grandchildren Braxton and Brayton of Hutto, TX. and a host of extended family from her brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a charitable contribution to St. Luke's Methodist Church, Lubbock, TX (3708 45th St) or to a favorite charity of choice.
