Frances was born November 17, 1937, in Lubbock, Texas to Cecil and Pearl Graves. Frances grew up in Lubbock and was a graduate of Tom S. Lubbock High School. She met the love of her life Alton Earl Massey, and they married August 8, 1955.
Frances was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt.
Frances loved her family and loved spending as much time as she could with them. Every year Frances, her sisters and brother would coordinate and host the Graves Family Reunion. She was an avid reader and had a green thumb that she inherited from her mother. Frances was a member of the Lubbock Christian Women's Connection.
When her three boys were young, Frances stayed at home and ran an in-home daycare. As the boys grew up, she went to work as a bookkeeper for Panhandle Construction.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Pearl Graves, sister Betty Brantley and brother Roy Graves.
She is survived by her husband Alton Massey of Lubbock, Texas. Two sisters, Bonnie Dunlap and
husband Jack of Bay City, Texas, Peggy Andrews of Lubbock, Texas, and a sister-in-law Melba Sue Hall of Lubbock Texas. Son Dwaine Massey and wife Connie of Ft. Collins, Colorado: son Preston Massey and wife Carolyn of Lubbock, Texas; son Scott Massey and wife Belinda of Carrollton, Texas. Six grandchildren, Natasha Olguin and husband Juan of Lubbock, Texas; Jennifer McGill and husband Brad of Knoxville, Tennessee; Jason Massey of Melbourne, Australia; Stephen Massey of Longmont, Colorado, Jackie Dickson and husband Lonnie of Lubbock, Texas, and Brandie Dailey and husband Ronnie of
Lubbock, Texas, 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1 from 6pm to 8pm, at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 5740 West 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79407.
Funeral services will be at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Friday September 2 at 10 am with Eric Barbee officiating.
