Linda C. Givens

Linda C. Givens was born on October 14 1927 to F C & Ector Cannon in Chilicothe Tx. She married the love of her life, Jack Givens on Dec 24th,1942, at Lubbock Tx. Linda loved being involved in Retail merchandising. She worked at Sears, Lathams, Dunlaps, then owned and operated Linda G's ladies wear for several years. She was a life time member of Eastern Stars, the Lubbock Women's club and devoted much of her time with the Christian Church, Golf, playing Bridge, fishing, advising all that questioned Texas Tech football and politics exactly where they should stand on each subject. Being with family was always a priority with her. She had a passion for entertaining, and cooking, which she did on a constant basis for friends and family. She and Jack traveled extensively across America and into Europe several times, each trip was exciting for her and created many happy memories. Preceded in death by both parents, & three sisters; Mildred Farris, Dot Ross, Gwen Sapaugh. She is survived by her husband Jack, children: John Givens and wife Karol, Kay Fowler and husband Bill. One Sister, Betty Jean Schoepf of Belton Tx. Grandchildren: Byron Gray, Eric Givens and wife Rachael,Tiffany Hager and husband Merrick, of Lubbock, Stephanie Hinson and husband Dave of Albuquerque, Shelly Hawkins and husband Monty of Perry Oklahoma, Sarah Pachall and husband Jimmy of Lubbock, Jason Moyer and wife Tracey of Grapevine, Tx, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. A sister in law Nancy Shoumaker and husband Calvin. Many nieces and nephews which she loved dearly.

Services will be at Resthaven Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m Saturday, January 4th, 2014. Visitation for family and friends is from 5:30-7:00 p.m Friday at Resthaven.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorials to Community Christian Church of Lubbock.
