Joyce Maxine Wright Cave Smith went home to Jesus on August 13, 2015.
Maxine was born in Gorman, Texas on October 27, 1929. She grew up in Lubbock, graduating from Lubbock High School. She was a highly skilled seamstress, sewing most of the clothes for her family. She also worked as a bookkeeper most of her life, including Morris Oil and South Plains Mall in Lubbock. For many years she was active in the Letter Carrier Auxiliary Association, holding many positions and traveling throughout the US for conventions with her first husband.
Maxine was predeceased by her husband, B.F. Smith, in 2003. Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Phillips of Buda, and Debra Coward (Bill), of Bandera; brother, Charles Wright (Sue), of Lubbock; five grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
