Joyce Lynn (Bryant) Davies

Joyce was born on May 21st 1935 to James Taylor and Geneva Bryant.

Joyce graduated from Wellman High School in 1953, and obtained her undergraduate and masters degrees from Texas Tech University.

Joyce married Kenneth Carlton Davies on June 10th, 1954 in Wellman, TX. They were married for 67 years.

Joyce specialized in elementary reading while living in Lubbock and Amarillo, TX. Joyce retired in 1992, and they moved to Ruidoso, NM.

She and Carlton loved to travel, and went to many different countries. Hawaii was her favorite destination.

Joyce was an active member of First Christian Church in Ruidoso, NM. She was a lifetime member of the Lincoln County Garden Club, and was President from 2003-2005. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Kappa.

Joyce enjoyed working in her garden and visiting with her neighbors. She was a very special person, always working with and so thoughtful of others. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two younger brothers, Roger and James Leslie Bryant.

Joyce is survived by her son, Randy Davies, daughter Kenna Green and son-law Patrick O’Connor. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Andrew Pirtle and Lauren Green.
