JoAnn Ray

She graduated from Hale Center High School in 1951.

She married Leslie Dale Ray on November 9, 1956 in Sligo TX. They moved to Lubbock and raised 3 daughters. They were charter members of Redbud Baptist Church. JoAnn was active in her church, Lubbock Ladies Firefighters Auxiliary, and many other community organizations. Her hobbies include,

ALL things creative, gardening and watching Texas Rangers baseball.

She is survived by daughters Lola Jan Davis of Lubbock, Cindy Diane Stockton of Jacksonville FL, and Pamela Kay Orr & husband Tracy of Jacksonville FL; brothers Bobby Wayne New of Midland TX and Wylie Don New of Universal City TX; four granddaughters, Angela Hughes Scott & husband Gary Dewayne, Becca Hughes Sebastian & husband Fred Gregory of Lubbock, Veronica Robertson Shaheen & husband Riston of Starke FL, and Courtney Orr of Gainsville FL; six great grandchildren and a very large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, stepmother Elizabeth New, brother Jerry Windell New, sister Linda Kay Heimel, and great granddaughter Charliee Faith Shaheen. Also best friend and

sister-in-law Inez New.

JoAnn visitation will be held at Resthaven Abbey Chapel on June 14, 2021 at 5:00 pm, 5740 West 19th St., Lubbock, Texas 79407. Celebration Of Life Services will be held at Redbud Baptist Church on June 15, 2021 at 10:00am, 801 Slide Rd, Lubbock, Texas 79416.

In lieu of flowers the family ask memorial donations be made to the Alzheimers Association or donor’s favorite charity.
