Jason John Valdez, 47, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. He was born on December 17, 1974 to Jesse Valdez and Gloria Valdez. He was raised in Lubbock and attended Lubbock High School. His favorite class in high school was art.
Jason married LaShonna Marie Garcia on November 20, 1993 at the Word of Life Tabernacle in Lubbock, Texas. They enjoyed 28 loving years together. Jason and LaShonna’s love grew their family by 4 bringing into the world 2 daughters, Seleste and Korrina, one son, Christian and their angel baby Claudia.
Jason had a career as a cook. Using his expertise for 27 years cooking for different restaurants all of Lubbock. You could have said his cooking made the taste buds dance on top of your tongue.
Jason was a man of many hobbies. He enjoyed tattooing, working on cars, drawing, and doing anything outdoors. He had a passion for football. You could see him cheering on the Texas Tech Football team whether it be on the TV or in person. Jason would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Jason is survived by his wife LaShonna, his children Seleste Valdez, Christian Valdez, and Korrina Valdez, 3 grandchildren Anicia, Christian, and Elyas, his mother Gloria Smith Flores and her husband Manny Flores, one older sister Monica Sullivan and husband Ben Sullivan, five younger half-brothers Chad Smith, Daniel Valdez, Adam Valdez, Michael Valdez, and Tommy Valdez, and one half-sister Leann Valdez, In-Laws that were more like parents Alfredo and Patricia Garcia, Grandfather Eduardo R. Loera Sr. Uncle Eduardo Loera Jr. and Aunt Sally and husband Pete Delarosa, 9 nieces and nephews and many cousins.
