James Sawyer

James P. Sawyer was born on June 22, 1931 in Richland, Texas and died on October 24, 2017 in Lubbock, TX. James lived a full rich life. He married the love of his life, Joyce Jenkins, on March 17, 1950 and they had four kids. He often said they had two Jacks and two Jills.

He opened Apex Sheet Metal Heating and Air Conditioning in 1963. Much of his metal handiwork is still spread throughout Lubbock.

James is preceded in death by his wife Joyce Sawyer, his parents Ava and Paul Sawyer; four brothers and one sister and grandson, Colby.

Those left to honor his memory are his children: Linda Ashby and husband, Dennis, Lynn Sawyer, Dianna Hudak and husband, Todd and Ricky Sawyer and wife, Paige. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please honor James’ memory with gifts to South Plains Obedience School/ Therapy Dog Division or Hospice of Lubbock.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27th from 2-4pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at 4 pm in Resthaven Memorial Park.
