Harry Ford

Harry Ford, 87, answered his final call on January 23, 2018. He was born August 11, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to John Leslie and Hazel Harvey Ford. He graduated from Tahoka High School in 1948. He married Virginia June Baucom on June 29, 1951 in Tahoka.

Harry worked 48 years for Trumble Crane and Rigging. He proudly served as a New Deal Volunteer firefighter for 28 years, where he was named Officer of the Year In 1996 and Firefighter of the Year In 2015. Harry was on the New Deal City Council from 1993-1996 and served as New Deal’s Mayor from 1996-2002.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sister, Aubrey Faye Gossett; and brother, Jerry Cody Ford, Sr.

Harry’s legacy are his sons: Harry Gene Ford (Rachel) of Round Rock, TX, Gary Paul Ford (Tara) of New Deal, John Morris Ford (Linda) of Booneville, AR, and Larry Dean Ford (Rosalyn) of Acuff; daughter, Tracy Lynn Damron (Tom) of Tahoka; brothers, John Harvey Ford of Lubbock and William Nick Ford (Sandy) of Meadow, TX; 13 grandchildren; and 19 1/2 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 at New Deal First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
