Glen E. Robertson of Hale Center was born in Pottsville, Arkansas on November 25, 1927, to Winifred G. and Ola Robertson. He passed into his new life in Christ on June 29, 2016. He is survived by three daughters, Phyllis McFerrin, Jennifer (Wendell) Horn, Sally (Cliff) Odenwald, and their families. The surviving grandchildren are Shelley (Shane) Berry, John David McFerrin, Jeremy (Becca) McFerrin, Katie (Brandon) McCamish, Clay (Misty) Horn, Abbie (Erick) Arellano, Jessie Hill, Alana (Cody) Chisum, Eric (Kate) Odenwald and 23 great-grandchildren. He was greeted in heaven by the love of his life, Clara Robertson, his daughter, Shelley June Stanley, granddaughter, Sarah Kay McFerrin and a host of family and friends.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard at the end of World War II. Glen loved farming, vacations at the lake, teaching kids how to water ski, and the smell of freshly plowed fields. He was an avid reader, followed current events on PBS and CSPAN, and as a life-long Arkansas Democrat decided to exit this life before the next election. He was a skilled storyteller who could weave a tall tale that always ended with laughter. His integrity, honesty, and sharp wit will be remembered by all who knew him.
