Geraldine Smallwood departed her earthly home July 10, 2013. She was born in Fannin County and graduated from Bonham High School, moving to West Texas with her parents, where she met and married Sidney Smallwood. He preceded her in death. Her parents, Alvin and Myrtle Dudley, also preceded her in Death
Geraldine worked at the Plainsman Hotel for 15 years and the Medical Arts Clinic for 15 years. Her was a long-time Sunset member.
She is survived by two cousins, Wanda Jean Jackson of Bonham and Opal Carroll of Crowell. Special friends include June Bowen, Ellie May Bartley, Kitty Burchfield, Linda Drexler, LeMoine Harrison, Thelma Kirk, Sam Keyes, Floyd and Violet Price, Yolanda Trujillo, and Becka Jackson all of Lubbock; Benny Reynolds, Dan Stringari and Tammy Allen of Montana; Tim Hamilton of Utah; Dave Sherod Oregon; Sandy Helm and Steve Kwasneski of Nevada; and Don and Charm Scott of California.
Dr. Ken Jones, Chancellor of Lubbock Christian University, will conduct services at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel at 1:00 pm on Monday July 15, 2013. Family and friends will gather after service. A private burial will be held at a later time.
