Eric was born in Lubbock and graduated from Frenship High School with an interest in auto-mechanics.
Eric pursued jujitsu, loved spending time with friends and he also learned to interact with the hearing impaired through sign language as well as to play the drums and the guitar.
Eric’s journey started with an interesting twist as he was specially picked out by David and Donna Burnett as a foster child at two months old and would eventually be formally adopted into the Burnett family as the youngest of 3 siblings. Eric was passionate about his music, drawings, family and had a genuine and loving servant’s heart. Eric attended various churches and was strong in his Christian faith. Eric will be missed by all those that knew him.
Eric leaves behind (his parents) David and Donna Burnett, his two siblings, Allen Burnett and Becca Geiger as well as a very special Aunt Lynn and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
As with many youngest siblings… the family thinks that Eric was secretly mom’s favorite! There was a special bond between Eric and his mom who spent so much time raising and caring for Eric and was Eric’s friend and mentor as he transitioned into adulthood.
Visitation for Eric will be held on Friday, October 5th from 6-8 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6th at 10 am at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Josh Reglan officiating with interment to follow in Resthaven's Memorial Park.
