Dione Michael Howard (Mike) was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mike joined the Navy at 18, and as a Vietnam Veteran, rose to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer (CPBO) before retiring from the military, to serve in the private sector in the RV industry, most notably, overseeing the parts department for Billy Sims Trailer Town until his official retirement on his country property in Wolfforth, TX.
Mike had a passion for fishing and golf. He had a quick wit, and was a patriot with a deep respect for his country and family.
He married the love of his life Eleanor Lucie Itte’ on September 4th, 1964 in Long Beach, CA and they loved spending their date nights at Disneyland whenever they could.
He is survived by his seven children: Rene` Clark, John Iacouzzi, JoAnn Gray, Jennifer Whatley,Heather Swissler, Glenn, and Wayne Howard and his three siblings: Bill Howard, Mary McGregor, and Geralyn DePinto; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His life will be remembered and celebrated on Saturday, May 6th from 9-1 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park. The Military Honors ceremony will take place at 11 am.
