David L. Davis

David L. Davis went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 5th 2012. He was born November 12th 1939 in Sash, Texas to Ira and Clara Davis. He graduated from Memphis High School in Memphis, Texas in 1958. He married his childhood sweetheart, Wanda Moore, on January 24th 1959 in Memphis, Texas. Most of his career was spent in sales and marketing. He loved the Lord, his family, and playing golf with his buddies, but his favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren participate in sports and other activities. David was a member of South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock and loved his church family for 36 years.

David is survived by his mother, Clara Davis of Lubbock, his wife, Wanda of Lubbock, his son Brian and his wife D’Ann of Abilene, Texas, son, Dayton and his wife Courtney of Fairview, North Carolina and grandchildren; Grant, Natalie, Lisa and his newest grandchild Tatum.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Davis, Sister, Patricia Nunnaly, and his son David Davis.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9th 2012 at 10 AM at South Plains Church of Christ at 6802 Elkhart in Lubbock. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8th 2012 from 6-7:30 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Children’s Home of Lubbock at PO Box 2824, Lubbock, Texas 79408.
