Quickly and without any preparation, God chose to take home Larry Dale Griggs, Jr. on January 14, 2019. His brave, strong, yet gentle spirit is missed deeply by his loving parents, Larry and Bettye Griggs.
Left to cherish his memory are this daughters, Koby and Kory Griggs and their mother, Stacy Griggs. Dale was born on January 30, 1969. For 49 years, he blessed his family and friends.
Dale was a graduate of Lubbock High. For nearly 25 years he worked at the Texas Tech Physical Plant as a Lead Utility Operator. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing and restoring bikes for children in his neighborhood. The light in his life were his daughters, Koby and Kory. Dale coached their sports teams, taught them to hunt, followed their interests and became a different person when he spoke about them. He was incredibly proud of their art achievements and the lovely young women they have become. In a word, he adored them.
Dale was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ray and Susie Griggs and his maternal grandparents, Jake and Miriam Wright.
Dale is also missed by, his aunts Hope Martin and husband Gary, Sharon Taylor, Patty Griggs, Evelyn Griggs, and uncle Al Griggs and wife Debbie along with many cousins. Though he was taken too soon, we hope to honor his beautiful life by living simply and finding joy in the memories we cherish of him the most. It’s how Dale would have it.
