Clifford “Dan” Turner, 77, of Lubbock, passed away peacefully in his home on November 22, 2023, with his two sons, Michael and Mark, and his two nephews, Larry and Chris Turner, whom he thought of as sons. He was born in Weatherford, Texas on June 25, 1946. He was married to Dianna Melton on June 22, 1984.
Dan served in the United States Army as a decorated soldier in Vietnam. He had a career in law enforcement, founding the Narcotics Division of the Lubbock County Sheriff’s department, and in his career achieved the rank of Captain of Narcotics.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Turner and Mark Turner; six grandchildren: Hayden, Steven, Ryan, Haley, Camille, and Michael Turner; two sisters, Leta Casbeer and Lavern Bone, and one brother, Dean Turner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Edith Turner; his wife, Dianna Turner; and brothers, Robert Turner, Willie Turner, Dee Turner, and brothers-in-law, Jessie Casbeer and Freddy Bone.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 11:30am on December 15, at Resthaven Funeral Home.
