Betty Garner Deavenport, 86, South Plains, TX, passed away Friday April 8, 2016 in Levelland, TX after a lengthy illness. She was born in Merkel, TX 11/24/29 to Howard L. & Mora E. Garner. She attended Texas Technological College and was employed at Coronado High School, Lubbock, TX. She was a member of South Plains Study Club. She is survived by daughters Donna Bownds & husband Dusty, of Sundown, TX, and Gina Clifton of Lubbock, TX, grandchildren Kristi Lankford, Chrystal Brooks, Mac McGuire and wife Sita of Benton, LA, Steve Ewerz and wife Michele of Cedar Park, TX, brothers Del Garner of Grand Junction, Co. and Derrell Garner and wife Patti of Amarillo, TX and sister Barbara Gale and husband Jim of Grand Junction, CO, great grandchildren Dante Zapata & wife Celeste, Dylan Beason, Harrison Lankford, Ian Martin, Tayden McGuire, Kate Lankford, Jack McGuire, Madaline McGuire, Genevieve Ewerz, Bauer Ewerz and Zaedyn Mojica and great great- granddaughters Khloe & Adalina Zapata, niece Sheila Howerter & husband Ron of League City, TX, nephew Dexter Garner of Basalt, CO, nieces Melinda, Andrea, Melissa, Renee, nephews, Michael Black, Mark Black, Dennis Garner. She was preceded in death by husband Noel Deavenport, sons Rex McGuire & Max McGuire, grandson John Ewerz, sister Janet Black and nephews Derek Garner and Garrett Gale.
