He was the proprietor of Elite Automotive and Body Works for 35 years. He was dedicated to his craft and also spent some of his early years teaching his craft to young minds at Estacado High School.
He enjoyed his work and working metal which he learned from his father as
a young man. When he was not working he loved spending time with family
and friends.
He also loved music and played drums as a young man and also continuously reminded us
of his band ¨ Gabriel and The Unknowns” out of Lamesa, Texas!
His claim to fame was they were invited to perform on AMERICAN BANDSTAND, He also enjoyed playing golf, sitting outside on the front porch and sharing stories with whomever would listen.
He was kind and was also ready to remind us of the importance of having a foundation, the foundation based on Faith and Jesus, which was the cornerstone of his Life and Ministry as a husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and brother-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his Father Miguel Saldivar, and Mother Aurora
Saldivar, Brothers Mike and Eric Saldivar.
He is survived by his wife Ortensia Florez Saldivar, 2 daughters Veronica ¨Chris¨ Truaxll from Jupiter,
Florida, Melissa Mascarenas ¨Mario¨ from Austin,Texas. 2 sons Arthur Saldivar Jr. from Midland, Texas, Salomon Maldonado from Laveen, Arizona. He was also survived by his siblings Stephen Saldivar, Martha Medrano, Belia Mayberry, Elida Balderas, Diana Saldivar, Yvette Wilkerson, and Sally Saldivar, and 3 granddaughters, and 7 grandsons.
Arturo visitation will be at Resthaven Abbey's Chapel, 5740 West 19th St., on January 26, 2021 at 5:00 pm, followed by Rosary at 7:00 pm. Graveside Service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park on January 27, 2021 at 10:00 am.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Covenant Medical Center for their unconditional love and service during his time under their wonder medical care. We would also extend a heartfelt Thank You to the staff of RSA South Plains Dialysis Clinic.
