Mary Gaona

Mary Gaona, of Loveland, CO, passed away on May 8, 2023 at the age of 93- two months shy of her 94th birthday. Mary was surrounded by family and loved ones at the time of her passing.

Mary was born on July 26, 1929 to Baltezar and Porferia Lopez in Manzano, NM.

In 1946, Mary married her husband, Porfirio Gaona and they had 11 children: Guadalupe, Frank, Marie, Joe, Gilbert, Henry, Porfirio Jr., Daved, Mary Jane, Edward, and Veronica.

Mary spent many years thereafter as a teacher with head start before retiring where she and Porfirio spent their time traveling to visit all their children and grandchildren, which brought her so much joy. Mary was an avid wrestling fan and was able to attend several live WWE performances with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her daughter Guadalupe (1948), her husband Porfirio (1998), as well as her sons Frank (2014) and Joe (2022). She is survived by 8 children, 25 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary was loved by so many and always had a seat at her table for anyone she came across. She will be missed beyond words.

Services will be held at Allnutt Funeral Home in Loveland in the Hunter Chapel on June 2, 2023 at 10:00am. There will be a private family viewing prior to the service at 9:00am. The family asks that immediate only family be in attendance for the viewing.

Mary’s family will also be hosting a Celebration of Life Reception the following day, June 3, 2023 at Fairgrounds Park in Loveland from 3-10pm. All are invited to come celebrate the memory of our beloved mother, grandmother, tia, cousin, and friend.
