Arnie married Gail Walker in December 1969, and they lived in Longmont, Colorado, from 1975 until 2017. During their time on the farm, they raised and showed Angus cattle and had guard dogs, reflecting Arnie's deep love for animals. He was a sports enthusiast, and enjoyed golfing, running, and skiing until his knees no longer allowed it.
After retiring from Rocky Flats in the 1990s, Arnie pursued his passion for animals by showing and breeding Portuguese Water Dogs, traveling to dog shows across the country and winning many championships. He also enjoyed exploring the world with Gail, embarking on cruises that took them to many beautiful ports.
In 2017, he and Gail moved to the Johnstown/Loveland area to be closer to family; his son, George Robert, his wife Melissa, and their children, Christian and Connor; and his daughter, Rebecca Lyn, her husband Loren Honstein, and their children, Isabelle, Joseph, and Ashlyn.
Arlyn's warmth, spirit, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
