He was born on January 5, 1932 in Austin Kentucky (Barren County). He is survived by his wife of 70 years Patricia A Borders, his four children; Janet, Kathy, Winfred III, and Laurel, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Winfred retired from Western Electric (AT&T) as an electrician after 30 years of service. He served in the US Army, stationed in Alaska. He was a member of Beechmont Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
A visitation for Winfred will be held Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 14, 2024 at 12:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven. Following the funeral a committal service will take place at 2:00pm at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40213.
