William Norvin Silliman, 93, died peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2013. A lifelong resident of Louisville, he graduated from Male High School in 1937. On February 28, 1942, he married Dorothy Elizabeth Reed who survives him. They have three children, Sharon G. Willer (Bud), now living in Louisville; N. Reed Silliman (Kathleen), now living in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and James F. Silliman (Kelli), now living in Greenville, South Carolina. He is survived, as well, by ten grandchildren: Laura, Steve, Bill, Greg, Katy, Jason, Joe, Bo, Zach and Sam; and eight great grandchildren.
Norvin dedicated over 37 years of his working career with Graft-Pelle Company, retiring as its President in 1985. Throughout his long life, he demonstrated to all who knew him the values of dedication, loyalty, honesty, and compassion. His guiding hand as husband, Dad, and Papaw will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
A private graveside service celebrating his life will be conducted by the family at a date to be determined. There will be no visitation or calling.
