Vernon was an Army veteran and retired from UPS after 29 years of service. He was the founder and director of Blue Chip Fastpitch Softball Camp for 17 years. He has coached for many different sports along with being a pitching instructor for over 35 years. Vernon coached for Bellarmine College softball for 6 years. He was a member of KHSAA Kentucky Hall of Fame.
Vernon dedicated over 35 years in helping and touching the lives of girls in getting scholarships for their education.
Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sherry Mulloy Bibb; children, Butch Bibb, (Lori), Teresa Mann (Chris), Joe Bibb (Danielle), and Mary Carter (Dave); grandchildren, Amber, Brandi, Brett, and Sara Bibb, Kailey and Kaitlyn Mann, Brandon, Austin, and Peyton Bibb, Shelby and Zack Carter; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Lucia Bibb; and 1 sister.
A funeral service to honor the life of Vernon will be 10am on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Evergreen Funeral Home, with entombment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8pm on Monday at the funeral home.
