Theresa epitomized the very definition of charm and class. Diligent at work and even moreso at play. Her sweet demeanor, intelligent problem solving, and often subtle, but dry sense of humor made her an instant joy to be around.
She was witty, simple, yet complex, knowledgeable on numerous subjects, loving, opinionated, kind to all, and loved by all. She had a love of nature and life which eventually led to her green thumb for gardening, traveling Europe, and frequent trips to a time share in Hilton Head with was immensely important to Theresa and she loved spending time with everyone (especially her grandchildren).
Enjoying life was also a high priority and she worked hard to achieve her goals. Always timely, methodical in planning, and setting her bar higher. It was this quirk which allowed Theresa to excel as a Data Entry Operator in the 1970s working in the city of Louisville.
She advanced quickly to the role of supervisor in the data center sector and network services. She had a long and productive career covering many positions within the IT department.
Her greatest sense of accomplishment was working with the Louisville Police force during the city/county merger. She retired in the early 2000s to live out her dreams of traveling Europe. It was during her retirement that she was coaxed into one of her other passions (dancing) and was reunited with her future husband, Lanny Lush, whom she loved until she left her earthly confines, carrying with her all the love and peace.
Theresa was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jessie and Bonnie Kippes; brother, Robert Lee Kippes; beloved nephew, Larry Anthony; and two adored grandchildren, Corey Jacob Allen and Jordan Beielle Allen. Also meeting her in the hereafter will be her dear friend, Chuck (Chuckles) Robinson.
She leaves us not to mourn, but to celebrate the love she had for us all. Her husband and love of her life, Lanny Lush, allowed her to leave peacefully knowing she had finally found a true and lasting love.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Trowbridge (Don), Colleen Allen, and Darryl Taylor her surrogate son. Left to fondly remember their second mother are her siblings, Glenda Lynn Pate, James Lambert Kippes (Glenda), Jane Carr Thomas (Steve), Mary Pat Gravil, Jenny Younger (Greg); her deeply loved grandchildren, Kristopher, Corey, Nicholas, Cheyenne, Sarah, Colin, Callie, Tiara, and Tamra.
