Born to the late Louis Dudley and Clara Neal, Shelby is also preceded in passing by her beloved spouse, Robert C. Newton; and her siblings Earl Dudley, Henry Dudley, and Della Robertson. Here to carry on her memory are her children, Julie Gagel (Bernie), Janice Brooks (Dubert), Kevin Walter (Chan), and Nancy Sloan; her companion David Crombie; and three stepsons Steve Newton, Doug Newton, and Mike Newton.
Shelby was a member of Fern Creek United Methodist Church and Jeffersontown Senior Center. She retired from CED, formerly E&H Electrical, after 26 years of bookkeeping.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A funeral service in Shelby’s honor will take place Friday morning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
