Robert W. Trigg passed on December 30, 2022, after a brief illness. He is survived by six sisters: Joan Elizabeth Whittenberg, Carolyn Mae Thomas, Sara Virginia McGee (Bob), Bobbie Hannah Sanderson, Jeannie Delong Gladura, and Susan Dudley Ballard (Marion), and by a brother: William Tracy Trigg (Judy). He was predeceased by a sister: Anna Rebecca Hobbs and by both parents: Robert S. and Sara E. Trigg.
Robert was President of Trigg Control, an engineering corporation, for twenty-four years. He was a 1982 graduate of Indiana University. Robert loved music; he played piano and trumpet, and later in life began studying violin. He played in several community orchestras. He also enjoyed volunteering for short-term mission programs. Robert was well-travelled, visiting Russia, China (The Great Wall), Peru (Machu Picchu), Central America and South Africa, to name a few of his destinations. He loved meeting new people, and his willingness to undertake new activities rather late in life was inspiring.
Robert liked to stay active—he loved to run, bike, Contra dance, and play pickleball and tennis.
He was devoted to his family and was always an eager participant in family reunions. His nephews remember a reunion trip he took with them through the Smoky Mountains in his convertible Ford Mustang, in the mid-1970’s.
Robert wished memorial gifts to go to CASA (CASA of River Region, 982 Eastern Pky, Box 9, Louisville, KY 40217. A memorial service will be held at Arch L. Heady Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218, on April 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM, visitation at 1:30.
