Robert Williams Sexton, 89, of Louisville passed away June 24, 2013 at Baptist Health Louisville. He was born on November 12, 1923 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Stuart Sexton and Helen Perkins Sexton. He was a student at V.P. I. when he enlisted in the United States Military serving in the Merchant Marines during WWII, a member of the Middletown VFW post where he was a huge fan of Tasty Tuesday and was past president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers. He retired as chief engineer from American Air Filter with more than 40 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Izella Bennett Sexton; two daughters, Sara Jane Sexton and Barbara Ann Sexton Smith (Lacey); a son, Robert Williams Sexton Jr. (Kathy); grandchildren, Kasey Kruse Miller, Adam Leikert Sexton, Bristol Dane Lansman and Matthew Leikert Sexton; great-grandchildren, Landon Reece Miller and Addison Ann Sexton; a niece, Debbie Sexton; other nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial were private for the family and under the direction of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road.
