Richard Lee Whitlock, 83, of Louisville Ky passed away Sunday October 13th 2024 at Signature South Nursing Home. He was born on December 20th 1940 in Louisville, Ky to the late Roy ¨Jolly¨ and Catherine Whitlock. Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Roy “Buck” Whitlock.
He retired from General Electric in Louisville Ky after 30 plus year of service and was member of Beechland Baptist Church.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Marcella Whitlock of 58 years. His two children, Karen Mellett (David) and Terry (Candy) Whitlock. Nine grandchildren, Christian Mellett, Georgia Mellett, David Jr Mellett, Ashley Morgan (Tim), Taylor Guinn, Abygail Whitlock, Brady Whitlock, Jake Bradley Whitlock and Samuel Whitlock. Two great grandchildren, Landry Morgan and Reese Morgan; and sister-in-law, Mary Whitlock.
A visitation for Richard will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40213. A service to honor the life of Richard will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Richard will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
