Frances resided in Louisville, Kentucky where she was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She had a career as a district manager of World Book/Childcraft Corporation and worked with schools in the Northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana region promoting the love of reading. After retirement she worked at Pets Place caring for the birds and animals and was known as the "bird lady".
She previously resided in Charlotte, North Carolina and was a graduate of Charlotte Technical High School. Francis worked for Belk's as a bookkeeper and was an active member of Belmont Park United Methodist Church.
She found joy in her life through her family, playing Bunco, gardening, and painting. She never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with people in all walks of life. She enjoyed traveling and visited places all over the world.
Survived by daughter, Sandra Marshall McAteer and husband Jim of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughter, Janice Marshall Beatty and husband Phil of McAlester, Oklahoma; son, John Kenneth Marshall and wife Yvonne of Louisville Kentucky.
Grandchildren, Jimmy McAteer and wife Marianna of Ft Worth, Texas, Meredith Beatty Selman and husband Scott of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Christie McAteer Dirks and husband Matt of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Candace Marshall Watson and husband Larry of Louisville, Kentucky, Whitney McAteer of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Phillip Beatty of McAlester, Oklahoma, Kaitlyn Marshall of Louisville, Kentucky.
Great grand children; Tyler Marshall, Christiana Watson, Thomas Watson, Lucas Watson, Callie Dirks, Riggins Dirks, Lydia Selman, Claire Selman, Henry Selman.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21 at 3:00 pm at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd., Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 - 3 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Monday, December 23 12:00 pm. at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. at McEwen Funeral Home at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC.
