He was born on January 2, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ben is preceded in death by his father, Martin Stivers; step-father, Thomas Young; and his grandfather, Richard Ostertag.
Ben loved painting and gardening, ceramics and writing, along with an endless collection of interests and hobbies. He admired nature and enjoyed spending time in his peaceful garden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Wendy Stivers; children, Josh Stivers, Nicki Stivers, Chris Stivers and Brian Stivers; mother, Mary Jean Young; siblings, Sherilee Hopper (Chris), Kathleen Roell, Richard Stivers (Patricia), Tammy Simon (Todd); and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218, with a celebration of Ben’s life to follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
