Born Sunday May 5, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Lou Ann was the only child born to parents, Bertrand Smith & Elizabeth Louise Troutt. She was a retired Tour Director for Hillerich & Bradsby, where she worked through the ranks. She loved to cook, shop & travel. She had a knack for crafting, learning to do so from her mother during her childhood through the Great Depression. Lou Ann learned to craft clothes along with many other things such as ceramics, where she even won a Blue Ribbon from the Kentucky State Fair during the 1960’s – 1970’s. She was a former athlete with the Louisville Sluggers Softball Team & her former church team. Once you knew Lou Ann, you fell in love with her. She had a great, witty personality. Lou Ann was a people person. She had a heart of gold & lived a full life – a life well lived!
Besides her parents, Bertrand & Elizabeth Louise Smith; her husband Carl J. “Mike” Raeuchle; & grandson, Anthony Watson, precede Lou Ann in her passing.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Keith (Clara) Raeuchle, Kenneth J. Raeuchle, Karla E. Watson, Kristy A. O’Brien & Linda Eizenstat; 10 – grandchildren; 7 – great – grandchildren; her wonderful caregiver, Tammy Kirkland, who took care of her for 3 years; plus, a host of other relatives & friends to mourn her passing.
In lieu of flowers & customary expressions of sympathy, memorial donations in honor of Lou Ann can be directed toward the American Cancer Society, Hosparus Health or Alzheimer’s Research.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Lou Ann will be laid to rest in the Garden of Honor of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums, where she will rest alongside her husband for eternity. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
