Liz Welch

Liz was born on Jan 22,1928, in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Baker, Louisiana. After becoming a registered nurse, she married Dr. George Welch and gave birth to her 4 children. After being widowed as a young woman, she raised her four children as a single mom, worked as an RN-eventually becoming director of nursing at Owensboro-Daviess Hospital- and became a world traveler.

Liz was active in the Ohio County Seventh Day Adventist Church, Women's Club, Homemaker's Club, Friendship Force, and the Kentucky Nurses Association.

She was devoted to the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she loved so much as well as to everyone who became her friend.

Come, Lord Jesus. We'll see you then, Mom.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Boyd Welch.

Ella is survived by her children, Brenda Pace, Theresa James and husband Pat, Mike Welch and wife Belinda and George Welch and wife Lisa.

Grandchildren, Jay (Valerie), Samantha, Tonya, Zack (Julia), Alex (Jessica), Benjamin, Derek (Kasey) and Brian. She is also survived by 12 Great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 3:oopm CST at the Ohio County Seventh Day Adventist Church at 2719 Goshen Road, Beaver Damn, Kentucky 42320

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Liz's honor to the Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief or the charity of your choice.
