I was Linda’s supervisor at first the Talking Book Library and then the Louisville Free Public Library.  We worked together for nearly 15 years until I retired.  Linda was a pure joy to be around.  She was the hardest worker!  Self-motivated and independent always.  She knew the work she was doing at the Library brought actual joy to peoples lives and it really did.  She consistently maintained the best attitude and her sense of humor was wonderful.  I really enjoyed working with Linda.  I was blessed to have known her.  What a wonderful lady!

Lindy’s step-niece, here. In my early 20’s, Lindy and I both worked downtown and had to get in quite early, so it only made sense to carpool! I’m incredibly thankful for these mini-roadtrips, as it allowed me to get to know Lindy as a person, not just as my aunt. Her positive attitude was an infectious and great way to start the day. She is incredibly loved, and will be incredibly missed by many, myself included. ❤️

Linda Beckman was a beautiful person.  I enjoyed working with her in the Talking Books Library at the Main branch. We shared many good times and celebrated our birthdays, children, and grandchildren.  God bless you and comfort you is my prayer. You have my deepest sympathy

My condolences to Linda's  family. I worked with  Linda at the main Library on York St. Linda was always  so happy she spread  joy and sunshine  all around. She loved her family so much and was so proud  of them.  The world lost a little of it's  light when Linda passed.

I have memories of fun times with Linda when I would come to Louisville to visit our mutual friend, Brenda. Sadly Brenda passed in 2013, but my husband and I continued to come to Louisville to see Linda and another friend as well as Brenda’s son, William. We had great fun going out to eat, shopping and solving the world’s problems with all of our wisdom!! I haven’t seen Linda since she left Louisville but thought of her often and I am sad to learn I will never get to see her again. Since my name is also Linda, our little group came up with a way to differentiate which one of us was being addressed. We always called her Happy Linda because she was always so upbeat. Not sure what that made me, but today I am definitely Sad Linda. God Bless those left behind and may God’s grace give you comfort. 

Just got the news from Kathy Szinney and so sorry to hear it.    I worked with Linda at the old Main Library at York , along with Kathy, Bill Wright, Jackie Evans, Jackie Smithers,Lynda Brown, Tom Denning and many others, all of us adored Linda and are truly sorry to hear the news.  Please take comfort in knowing you have many people praying for you all and Linda and know that she is with Jesus and the first thing she saw in Heaven was His face , Who died for her.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Faye Farison; and sister, Margaret Farison.


Left to cherish Linda's memory are her children, Sandie Burdine (Jimmy), Robert Beckman; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smith, Hannah Burdine, Hunter Burdine; great-grandchild, Skyler Cooley; Brothers, Sam Farison (Kollynne), Dan Farison; her nieces and nephews; and her loving companion, Kenneth Stinson.
