Joyce Austin

She was born November 2, 1939 at 23rd and Market. She graduated from Shawnee High School. She worked at Greater Louisville Bank. She then went to Watterson College and graduated with her CMA degree and worked for Surgical Care Associates. Joyce was a member of Baptist Tabernacle where she became the pianist. She later moved membership to Shively Baptist Church, where she became the pianist and a faithful member.

Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Austin, and a brother, Lawrence White.

She is survived by her three sons, Michael, Mark and Matthew Austin (Kelly); grandchildren, Karis Bowers (Zach), Robert Matthew Austin, Austin and Jared; two great-grandchildren, Corbin and Kaiya; and best friend and neighbor, Betty Jeffries.

Her funeral will be on Thursday at 12:30pm at the Shively Baptist Church, 1599 Sadie Lane, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2pm until 8pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway and at the church from 11am until the time of service.
