Joseph Harold "Buddy" Gruneisen, 79, of Louisville, passed away on the morning of December 2, 2011. He worked being a photographer for Standard Gravure, McKay Engraving and as a sales representative for Gatchels. Buddy was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and an avid sports fan and softball player. He coached grade school sports and was a great motivator; not only to his sons but many of the children he had coached. Later he taught photography at Ahrens High School. He served our country as a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was predeceased by is parents, Joseph Henry and Cecelia Schwaniger Gruneisen; twin sister, Carol Hollingsworth and brother-in-law, Glenn Hollingsworth.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Wiggins Gruneisen; sons, Joe (Kay) and Mike (Jennifer) Gruneisen; sister, Joan (Ray) Kleier; brothers, Donnie (Lois) and Jack (Carol) Gruneisen; grandsons, Alex, Noah and Jacob Gruneisen and Brandon Gatz.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at St. Albert the Great, 1395 Girard Drive with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, on Monday from 1-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 - 10 a.m.
